ARTIST'S BIO

Perry Pageau

A self-taught artist, Perry was born in Pontiac, Michigan. He is a graduate of Rincon High School located in Tucson, Arizona. He continued his education and holds a degree in electronics. Perry discovered at an early age that he had talent as an artist.

Perry along with his wife Debie joined the Southern Arizona Arts Guild in 2005.

Perry has been in the construction trade for over 30 years. Homeowners, as well as general contractors, refer to his work as “Perry`s Magic” due to his ability to match textures and colors. When Perry was thirty-eight he decided to take his talent seriously.

He discovered that he could not only draw and paint but he also enjoyed sculpting with clay and then metal. To this day he still enjoys the art of sculpting but the medium he takes the most pleasure in is painting with oil, though some of his very first paintings were actually done with acrylic paints. The images that he creates with Gypse' Mue actually make you want to touch them to see if they are real.

You will see in most of Perry`s creations that such great artists as Van Gogh, Monet, and Ted De Grazia influence his style. Yet his knife strokes and brush technique are very strong and able to transport the viewer into the painting to escape, whether it is a landscape, horses, Native Americans or maidens. With his career just beginning in the art world Perry is sure to find more hidden talents to offer any home or gallery.

Perry is a very reclusive artist, so most likely it will be his wife and partner of twenty some years, Debie, that you will enjoy meeting at his shows or gallery openings. Perry can be found at home creating something new, or perhaps he is out somewhere in the foothills of Tucson hiking and enjoying his solitude and the splendor of our surrounding desert.
